Optimal COVID-19 Vaccine Sharing Between Two Nations That Also Have Extensive Travel Exchanges

چکیده
Countries around the world have observed reduced infections from SARS-CoV-2 virus, that causes COVID-19 illness, primarily due to non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) such as lockdowns and social distancing measures designed limit physical proximity between people. However, economies societal interactions require restarting, so cannot continue indefinitely. Therefore, much hope is placed in using newly developed vaccines a route back normality, but this raises key questions about how they are shared. There also emerging regarding travel. For instance, international business trade necessitates at least some in-person exchanges, alongside restarting travel for tourist purposes. By utilising Susceptible-Infected-Recovered-Vaccinated (SIRV) mathematical model, we simulate populations of two nations parallel, where first nation produces vaccine decides extent which it shared with second. Overlaying our structure virus-related effects nations. We find even extensive travel, one minimises its total number deaths by simply retaining vaccines, aiming full inoculation fast possible, suggesting risks posed can be mitigated rapidly vaccinating own population. If instead consider i.e., sum both nations, then policy not sharing until vaccination highly sub-optimal. A low initial many more than lives saved one, raising important ethical issues. This imbalance health impact provision must considered countries begin approach point vaccination, while others lack resources do so.

Ethical Issues in COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout
From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers aspired to produce an effective vaccine with appropriate efficacy and low side effects to mitigate the pandemic. It seems that vaccination is the only mean to save the world from this pandemic. In this article, we will review the ethical challenges of mass vaccination (focusing on the vaccine distribution and uptake), referring to the mai...
